Following officers recommendation for approval the planning committee of the Isle of Wight Council approved planning for the scheme at a meeting on the 31st May in the Council Chambers.
In addition to providing much needed housing for local residents the innovative scheme also includes 4 affordable 2 bedroom semi detached bungalows, significant enhancements to the local ecology through the provision of 450 sq m of new hedgerows and a 0.7HA wildlife protection zone.
Financial contributions have also been made to the local footpath network and migrating bird conservation as the area is within the Island SPA.
